Bismarck Rock is the iconic huge, balancing rock you may have seen in pictures of Mwanza or Lake Victoria. It’s name comes from the German Chancellor of Tanganyika, Otto von Bismarck. In his time of ruling there was a great statue of him upon this rock, but when the British took over the area, they collapsed it into the waters below.
